With the return of the Genie, he brings a host of old and new faces to escort the audience through the proscenium arches of make believe and into the land of the enchanted.
Again, more than half the members of the cast make their debut to Bridgeport and campus audience-many for the first time on the stage. Others need no introductions to those who have seen past presentations of the Office of Campus Productions:
DORIS BAUERSFELD '51, returns again as leading lady of song. She is remembered for her performances in last year's "Campus Thunder," and the Wistaria Pageant. Doris comes from Brooklyn and has appeared in numerous musical and radio programs in and around New York.
DON JONES '51, leading man of song comes to the University from Long Hill and Bassick High School. Don entered the college last year in time to play the leading male role in the Wistaria Pageant, "The Legend of the Singing Mountain." He also has appeared on numerous radio programs.
STEW ART BAKER '51, B. U.'s man about campus with the million dollar personality is seldom without a script in his hand. Last year he won laurels for his performances in "Campus Thunder," "Dinner in Black,'1 "The Legend of the Singing Mountain," the Christmas Pageant and numerous one-act plays, radio shows, and as a member of the trouping company of the Entertainment's Bureau. This summer Stew took time off from his studies to become a member of the residence company of the Newport Casino Summer Theatre, Newport, R. I. There he appeared in such productions as "Let Us Be Gay," and "Charley's Aunt." He also stage managed some of the Casino's shows. GERRY WILKINS (special student), versatile actress and singer who can play with equal ease both character and leading lady roles. She proves her versatility tonight as she enacts various roles from the exotic Spanish- dancer to the character woman in "Seven Nights in the Ale House." Gerry is a veteran from last year's "Campus Thunder," and played leading roles in the Wistaria Pageant, "The Flattering Word,'1 and as a member of Campus Productions' Entertainment Bureau.
FRANK L. DRISCOLL '51, joined with Campus Productions last year to take part in the State Contest play "The Flattering Word." Frank comes from Ke\v Gardens, N. Y. Tonight marks his first experience with musical comedy.
LYN LEBARRON '52, new to the campus this year comes from Woodstock, Vermont, where she appeared in numerous plays but never in a musical production. Lyn, a natural with a flare for musical comedy, started out with a minor part in tonight's production, but was soon assigned so many numbers that she now hardly has time enough for her costume changes. She is a valuable new find to Campus Productions.
STEPHEN E. LEPAGE '49, the campus magician who can make anything disappear before your very eyes-sometimes even himself. Steve is a member of the Society of American Magician Shows and has performed his magic tricks extensively in and out of the city, He was seen in last year's "Campus Thunder" and the Wistaria Pageant. His home is in Fairfield. His professional name is "Saudi Shah."
NORDEN HAHN '52 (Assistant Stage Manager), from the center of theatrical activities, New York City, Norden has come to the University of Bridgeport to get experience in stage work and to learn a little accounting. He expresses a keen interest in pianos-in which business he may eventually go-but on the other hand, he might become a stage technician.
BENJAMIN A. RAUBVOGEL '51 (Publicity Director), a native of Bridgeport, Ben is a past snd present member of the Thunderettes, and last year was assistant stage man' ager for Campus Productions. His latest achievement has been the founding of the National Shmoo Society and he is now busy organising chapters on campuses throughout the-United States, He is also connected with the Public Relations office and writes the Campus News for the Bridgeport Post.
DONALD GARBELNICK '49 (Publicity), a senior this year, Don has acted as the public relations and contact man for Campus Productions. Through his efforts, special favors have been granted Campus Productions by downtown busines firms. His loyalty and enthusiasm makes him a valuable member of Campus Productions.
JOHN S KARLAK '50 (Stage), one of Seymour High School pride sons, John has been a loyal and willing worker throughout the making of "Campus Thunder." He has assisted in the making of many of the special effects.
FRED BLUMBERG '52 and SCOTTIE MACBRIDE '50 (Make-up), are from Lynn, Mass, and Fairfield respective. Both have had experience in make-up, Fred is an active member in Lynn dramatic circles and Scottie is a member of the National Thespians.

You never see them, hut long hours of planning and labor on their part has made this production possihle.
EVERETT MATSON '50 (Business Manager) who last year piloted the Office of Campus Productions through its embryo stages, now manages all business activities for the organisation. It is a source of mystery to many who wonder how Ev accomplishes everything for which he is responsible. Besides his important job of handling all finances and tickets for Campus Productions, he holds responsible positions on the Social Activities Committee, The Wistarian, Theta Sigma Fraternity, The Scribe, is editor of the University Student Handbook, Campus Commission, SCAC, and is a major wheel in the Football Committee. He has also managed to find time to take part in the Wistaria Pageants, carry a full load of credit, hours, and to become engaged to a lovely girl from Connecticut University. If there's a problem, the cry is "Call Ev." He speaks softly and says little, but for fast action, dependability and a prompt carry through, it's "Call Ev.'
BERNIE CONROY '52 (Stage Manager), is now serving his apprenticeship and will soon become a member of the Stage Union Association of America. His experience of working with professional shows has made him a valuable asset to Campus Productions.
AARON RUBIN '51 (Lighting), from Norwalk, Aaron has had experience in technical stage work at the Norwalk High School, Town Hall, and during the time he spent in the U. S. Navy.
BERTRAM ARTHUR '51 (Assistant to the Director) was stage manager last year for all of Campus Productions' major presentations. Bert is one of the most active men on campus in the promotion and arrangements of student activities. He is chairman of the all college big Wistaria week-end committee which is a new venture in college activities this year.
KAY ROCHE '50, another veteran from last year's "Campus Thunder," has been in many college musicals including "H.M.S. Pinafore," "Trial by Jury" and choral soloist in the Christmas pageant. Kay also played in "Ten Little Indians," and has done work in radio,
NANCY FRAY (Special student) is a newcomer to Campus Productions from Fairfield and Roger Ludlow High School. She has studied at both the Vermont Junior College and Boston College where she appeared in numerous productions including "Ladies in Retirement," Chekov's "The Boor," "Sidewalks of New York," and "The King's Hinchman." Tonight marks her first real attempt at anything musical.
KENNETH PIERCE '51, last year Ken created the role of the "Campus Thunder" Genie, so it was just natural he return as the Genie this year. In fact, Ken is looking forward to two more years in his role of the Genie before graduation. He has done work in summer stock and was active in Erasmus Hall High School productions in Brooklyn.
FRANK "SKIP" CHURCH '50, Norwalk's prize tenor and a member of Norway's chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, is another new face in this second edition of "Campus Thunder."
MARILU ELLIOT '52, Marilu came with some of her Bassick friends last year to see ''Campus Thunder," and decided then and there she was coming to the U, of B. and take part in this year's edition. And that she did. She will long be remembered on the campus for her dramatic portrayal of the frail heroine, Lily White.
J. MASHAK, JR., '52, a freshman at the University from Arlington, Mass., Anthony, has been active in the Drama Club of Boston and the Whalom Playhouse. He is equally at home with both drama and music and in playing both juvenile and character roles,
JOHN J. Cox '50, the most elected man on the campus who holds more offices than he has lingers and toes. With his multiple and varied duties, John managed to find time to make his debut tonight for the first time on the stage, and we find he can act equally as well as he can conduct a meeting.
Among other new faces this year is ROBERT MIDDLEMASS '52, brother of the personable, Betty, of the Bursar's office. Bob has been active in dramatics and choral work at the United Church, and was an extra in the cast of "The Man Who Came to Dinner" when it played Bridgeport with Alexander Wolcott as the star.
BOB DOWNEY '51, and THOMAS M. McGANNON '50, also make their first stage debut tonight. Bob comes to the University from the Fairfield Prep school and Tom from Bassick.
HAL LUCAS, JR., '50, holds down a job during the day with the G. E. Company and continues his work towards his college degree at night. He has appeared in shows sponsored by the Bridgeport Brass Company.
THOMAS A. JACKSON, JR., '50 and Jo MERCURIC '52 are alumni of the Warren Harding High School. This is Tom's first stage experience. Jo has appeared in high school productions and is an experienced costume designer.
MARY ALICE MOORE '52, Bridgeport, and AUDREY KANE '51, Springfield, Mass., are also two newcomers to Campus Productions, as are BARBARA CLUCK '52 and HARRIET OLANOFF '52. Barbara comes from Newton, Mass., and Harriet from Lynn, Mass. Both were active in high school plays. Harriet was a member of the Lynn Community Drama Center and last year was assigned the role of Ruth in the play, "Dear Ruth."
NORMA KELLY '50, a member of the ballet in the premiere edition of "Campus Thunder," returns in the ballet number in the final scene. JOHN E. REED '50, special effects man for Campus Productions, faces the footlights for the first time, as does PHOEBE WARSHAW '52 of Mount Vernon, New York,
Three- other newcomers to Campus Productions are BUD HARRIS '50, from Olyph-ant, Pennsylvania, PAUL KAUFMAN '52, Westport, and JOHN W. HACKETT '50, Bridgeport. All three were active in high school productions, civic plays and minstrel shows.
THE THUNDERKTTES-New England's most, interesting "women" return again in all their glory. After their screamingly success in last year's production, it was decided to make them a permanent tradition of "Campus Thunder."
Returning in the roles they created last year are: EDWARD E. FLYNN '49, Bridgeport, prominent man about campus and veteran of Campus Productions; JAMES N. GAFFNLY '50, Bridgeport, this year's editor of the Wistarian Year Book; EDGAR MOOR-HOUSE '50, of Teaneck, N. J.; FRANK JONES '49, Bridgeport, and BENJAMIN A. RA.LTB-VOGEL '51, Bridgeport, President and founder of the American Society for the Advancement of the Shmoos.
New members of the exclusive group include MAURICE J. McDONALD '50, Boston; JOHN SACCONE '49, Bridgeport, who won the heated contest of "Miss Cutie-Pie" sponsored by the inner-circle of the group: and the Bridgeport U.'s man of natural wit.
DANIEL GREANEY '50, who steps into the coveted role of Fifi, leader of the Thunderettes.
LEE GREANEY, Ex-'48 (Dance Director and Supervisor) is a native of Great Neck, New York. She has studied -dancing and ballet with George Valodine in Westport and is the charming wife of B, U.'s popular Dan Greaney.
THE OFFICE of Campus Productions announces two of its future, major presentations:

THROUGH the Civic Entertainment Bureau of the Office of Campus Productions, various types of entertainment and short plays are available to clubs and organizations within the city and the surrounding communities.
A Theatre Party for all present and past company members of "Campus Thunder" will be held in the Ballroom of the Barnum Hotel, Friday evening, following the opening performance.
Played two performances to a near capacity house---
From '47 we turn a page to one year later when Campus Thunder '48 made its debut at the Klein. The theme the Genie tells us was romance amidst the carnival crowds, so away from here come fly with us through the proscenium arches of make-believe. Of course most of us who attended this performance remember how the Genie (Ken Pierce) happened to get stuck in the wings while he was coming down on his lamp from the ceiling; remember the little things such as the bowl of fish that was given away to some person in the audience; remember the long hours the dancers had to work to perfect the Valencia number. Scene two, act one brought us back to the days when men were men in the "Ale House" scene, or a Trolley called Desirious or the Forever of Lilly White.
Can we ever forget Don Jones and Doris Bauresfield in the Sime Neary hit, "You Smiled and Said Hello" and the closing number "In The Garden of the Gods" and "Barnum Bounce" sung all around the university? The Thunderettes were billed once again as the stars of the show and Jim Gaffney and Ben Raubvogel brought down the house with their Flora'-dora costumes that lit up. Dan Greany took over the role of Miss Fifi, queen of the Thunderettes, doing her rememberable Strip Tease.
The second cast party took place at the Hotel Barnum Ballroom where Mr.D's father presented him with a watch on behalf of the entire cast and company of the second edition.
Hit scenes in this edition were: Carnival of Old Chicago,Seven Nights in the Ale House, Carnival Ball and Garden of the Gods.
Greatest thrill was the announcement that the New York Daily Mirror had covered the show.
"You Smiled and Said Hello"
"The Barnum Bounce"
"I'm the Son of P.T. Barnum"
"In the Garden of the Gods"
"Fresh From the Country"
